Claude Gruffy est un artiste autodidacte. Il est né en 1955 à Montréal. Il démontre dès son jeune âge un talent pour le dessin. À l'âge de 10 ans, ses dessins lui permettent de remporter un premier prix lors d'une émission de télévision.
C'est un passionné, surtout lorsqu'il parle de la peinture à l'huile, médium qu'il a découvert en 1976. Par la suite, il a expérimenté plusieurs techniques de grands maîtres tel que l'impressionnisme, le cubisme etc.

Il travaille depuis plus de trente ans pour une chaîne de télévision française. Son poste se nomme premier scénographe  Il a reproduit plusieurs immenses toiles de fond pour différentes émissions de télévision. Une des toiles de fond mesurait 100 pieds de large par 20 pieds de haut. (Cliquer pour voir cette murale) Son travail touche aussi à la sculpture, faux finis, imitations de bois, de marbres, etc. Malheureusement, le pinceau est remplacé maintenant par l'ordinateur, nouvelle vision de l'avenir.

Ce changement lui fait découvrir la photographie numérique. Cette récente passion l'amène encore plus loin dans sa recherche artistique. L'artiste nous dévoile maintenant sa vision intérieure : "Quand la vision de l'artiste s'émerveille à la découverte de soi, il franchit alors la voie de l'harmonie.
